To me, the process of creating a legacy with another person (whether that is a child, a mutual project, or anything else) is one of the truest ways of uniting with them. The resulting creation is a physical manifestation of your unity. This desperation to make our unity concrete can drive us to sacrifice anything, even our bodies or our lives.
